SFPD arrests suspect in July Mission homicide

A suspect in the July 24 homicide at the 16th Street BART Plaza was arrested on Sunday, the San Francisco Police Department reported today.Luis Rebolledo, a 37-year-old male who is suspected of killing a 20-year-old Black man at the 16th Street BART Plaza in broad-daylight at around 5:30 p.m. on July 24, was arrested at Shaddick Drive in Antioch, the department said.After the July 24 shooting, the victim was taken away by an ambulance with life-threatening injuries and died from gunshot wounds in the hospital. The shooting followed a fight with a crowd of about 20 young people at the BART Plaza, Mission Local reported in July.Rebolledo was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked at 2:59 a.m. for homicide, carrying a concealed firearm, second degree robbery, and other charges. Video of SFPD shooting shows armed suspect at Powell Street BART

The San Francisco Police Department held a town hall meeting Monday showing footage of three officers shooting at an armed suspect after a Sept. 13 chase that ended near the fare gates of the Powell Street BART Station.  Justin Matthew Alderman, 30, was armed and the gun can be seen throughout the video. Suspect in anti-Black hate crimes is a Black woman, SFPD says

San Francisco police on Friday named a suspect in a series of racist incidents that targeted the home of a longtime Black Alamo Square resident and dog walker, Terry Williams, whose family had said they felt abandoned by the city in the aftermath of the alleged hate crimes.April Martin Chartrand, a 67-year-old Black city resident, left a series of racist packages at the home of beloved dog walker Williams, according to a communiqué sent by the police department today asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.Williams said he got a call today about Chartrand from the police chief, and upon seeing her image realized she is a neighbor and also lives on Alamo Square. SF stabbing suspect goes on hit-and-run rampage

A stabbing suspect yesterday led police on a destructive chase throughout San Francisco during which he purportedly “attempted homicides with a vehicle,” striking multiple pedestrians. He is also accused of intentionally ramming a police vehicle in Dolores Park before eventually being captured. At just after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a stabbing scene in the 400 block of Broderick near Divisadero. The suspect drove south toward Fell; his alleged victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. During the suspect’s flight, he is accused of striking multiple pedestrians and vehicles.
