Accused killer’s sister testified for a third day

In her third day of testimony on Tuesday, Khazar Momeni, the sister of Nima Momeni who is on trial for the alleged murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee, testified again that Lee had never touched her.Prosecutors have insisted that Nima Momeni believed Lee had been involved with his sister, offering a motive for why Momeni allegedly stabbed Lee to death. Thousands gather for Indigenous Peoples’ day on Alcatraz Island

While the rest of the city slept, Alcatraz glowed as thousands circled around a bonfire lit on the island in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.The annual sunrise gathering began before dawn on Monday to commemorate the original occupation of Alcatraz island, the ancestral lands of the Ohlone, by “Indians of All Tribes” between 1969 and 1971. Organizers from the International Indian Treaty Council say that action “sparked the National and International Indigenous Peoples movement for rights and justice.”This year, the event drew around 2,500 people, council liaison Morning Star Gali estimated. Mission Street celebrates National Taco Day with a taco tour

Many took a stroll through the Mission on Friday on a taco tour to celebrate National Taco Day. Pollo, carne asada, al pastor, shrimp and other less well-known options such as crispy potato and cochinita pibil were part of a menu that featured 10 local restaurants, each offering their own signature creation.Participants had the option of buying a $17 ticket that included five tacos from any of the participating establishments.
