Closing arguments begin in Cash App founder Bob Lee’s murder trial

After six weeks of testimony, prosecutors charging Nima Momeni with the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee started their closing arguments — and urged the jury to convict Momeni of premeditated, first-degree murder. “There is only one reasonable conclusion about what it is that happened that night,” said Dane Reinstedt, a prosecutor with the district attorney’s office, in a monologue that spanned nearly three hours and most of the day. “All of the evidence together paints a very clear picture, one that is actually pretty simple.” Reinstedt pieced together witness testimony and other evidence to illustrate Momeni’s motive and guilt in killing Lee in the early morning of April 4, 2023. ‘Like a teddy bear’: Bob Lee’s friends testify to drug use, character

Two former colleagues and friends of Cash App founder Bob Lee testified today that while the homicide victim used drugs, Lee was not aggressive or erratic. The testimony countered a narrative from his alleged killer that Lee first drew the knife that killed him. Nima Momeni, the man on trial for Lee’s murder, has testified that Lee attacked him with a kitchen knife over a “bad joke,” about spending more time with his family rather than going to a strip club and that Momeni redirected the weapon toward Lee. Nima Momeni’s sister testifies her brother didn’t kill Bob Lee

A year and a half after Nima Momeni allegedly killed Cash App founder Bob Lee, Momeni’s sister, Khazar, broke her silence today and testified in court that he did no such thing. Khazar Momeni has been at the center of the ongoing murder case: Prosecutors claim Momeni stabbed Lee, angry over some inappropriate action between Lee and his sister on April 3, 2024, in the hours before Lee’s stabbing. Momeni’s defense team, meanwhile, says his sister was actually assaulted by her drug dealer, Jeremy Boivin. Murder trial for CashApp founder Bob Lee kicks off in San Francisco
