Mission Local nabs top honors at Online Journalism Awards
We’ve done it again: Mission Local took home the “general excellence” award from the Online News Association on Friday at a ceremony in Atlanta, the second time in three years we’ve been honored with the national prize.We were among some of the top newsrooms in the country: the Boston Globe, ProPublica, and the Markup took home general excellence awards in their size categories.Judges were particularly impressed with our focus on data and visual journalism, our ongoing election coverage, and our commitment to training young reporters.We described ourselves as “San Francisco’s pluckiest outlet,” and judges agreed.
