Alleged mugging suspects arrested after trying to hide in a jewelry store
Police detained a group of young men Tuesday at around 5 p.m. for allegedly assaulting and attempting to rob a pedestrian near Angie’s Jewelry Store at 2386 Mission St . near 20th Street. It’s unclear how many men were arrested, but it appeared to be around five men. The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries at around 6:30 p.m.The suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and then ran into the jewelry store, according to several businesses. A worker at the jewelry store said a couple of guys ran into his store. He thought they were customers until police surrounded the area and took the suspects into custody.
