Experience Holiday Luxury at Ocean Casino Resort

Article arrow_drop_down

When people think of Atlantic City, their minds rush to slot machines, poker tables, and the glittering casino floor. But we discovered something unexpected during a winter stay at Ocean Casino Resort – this luxurious destination delivers so much more than gaming thrills.

In fact, winter might be the most magical time to visit this iconic shore town.

High above the buzz of the casino floor, the 36th level has transformed into a winter wonderland. Our expansive Social Suite became homebase for a holiday escape that mixed luxury with seasonal charm that felt like our own festive retreat in the sky.

Ocean proves itself as a true resort destination first.

Families explore the enchanting Holiday Village at The Shops at The Row, couples enjoy intimate meals at fine dining venues, and kids’ eyes light up at Santa’s Hideaway Adventure.

The gaming floor becomes just one exciting element in a resort filled with seasonal delights.

From the pop-up Jingle Bell Bar to world-class dining options, every corner offers a new way to celebrate the season. Ocean sparkles with towering Christmas trees, Instagram-worthy photo spots, and twinkling lights that turn this already amazing property into a holiday paradise.

Here’s how to make the most of a winter getaway at this beachfront resort that’s redefining Atlantic City’s reputation.

The Holiday Social Suite

Room 3602 took our breath away the moment we stepped inside. The corner Social Suite spans 947 square feet of pure luxury with stunning panoramas of both the Atlantic Ocean and Atlantic City skyline. But during the holidays, Ocean Casino Resort turns these impressive accommodations into something truly magical.

Two fully decorated Christmas trees cast a warm glow across the contemporary space. A dedicated hot cocoa station, complete with marshmallows and candy canes, beckoned us to slow down and enjoy cozy moments.

Even small touches like mistletoe over the bedroom door and holiday throw pillows added to the festive atmosphere.

The suite’s layout was perfect for our stay. A separate living area features comfortable seating and a large flat-screen TV (which we used nightly for holiday movies), while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light. The dining area and wet bar with refrigerator meant we could enjoy leftovers from Ocean’s excellent restaurants in comfort.

The bedroom continues the luxury with another wall of windows and a plush king bed. A spa-like bathroom features dual sinks, a deep soaking tub perfect for warming up after winter walks, and a glass-enclosed rain shower. There’s even a convenient powder room for guests.

What truly captivated us were the views. Brilliant sunrises over the ocean and dramatic sunsets behind the city filled the windows of this corner suite. As evening settled in, we’d curl up with hot chocolate and cookies, watching the waves roll in while the resort’s fireplace TV channel set the perfect ambiance.

With five upscale restaurants and ten casual eateries, dining options here are abundant. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a gourmet meal, Ocean’s culinary scene has something to satisfy every taste. Here’s where we dined.

Harper’s: Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

Harper’s famous Bourbon Sticky Bun | Photo: Better Living

Harper’s earned its title as Atlantic City’s best breakfast spot. The restaurant serves breakfast and brunch daily, and one bite of their famous Bourbon Sticky Bun explains their two-year winning streak in Casino Player Magazine’s Best of Dining Awards.

This skillet-served masterpiece arrives warm and glistening. Orange cream cheese glaze, house-made caramel sauce, and candied pecans blanket the massive bun. The tender dough pulls apart to reveal swirls of cinnamon and bourbon-infused layers.

For something truly decadent, Bananas Foster French Toast showcases Harper’s sweet expertise. Thick slices of brioche wear a coating of Cinnamon Toast Crunchies. Banana cream and house-made caramel create rich layers, while brûléed bananas add caramelized warmth.

But, Harper’s isn’t just about dessert for breakfast—it’s a flavor playground where sweet meets savory in the most delicious ways. If comfort food is calling your name, the Shrimp & Grits answers with buttery poached shrimp, bold Creole sauce, creamy aged cheddar, and a crown of crispy onions. And if you’re trying to hit your protein goals, the Steak and Eggs features two tender filet medallions with eggs and a drizzle of rich béarnaise sauce.

Quiche Lorraine: A Harper’s classic | Photo: Better Living

The Quiche Lorraine brings French flair with a buttery, flaky crust filled with smoky bacon, sweet onion, and melty Gruyère cheese, finished with a fresh pop of arugula on top.

The service at Harper’s also matches the quality of the food. Our server, Scarlett, was wonderful. She brought everything out fresh and beautifully presented, with some great recommendations along the way. From the perfectly timed dishes to the personal French press pots of coffee that stayed hot and fresh through breakfast, every detail was thoughtfully handled.

Holiday cocktails also add some sparkle to breakfast. The Holiday White Cranberry Mimosa glows with iridescent bubbles, finished with cotton candy and a hint of edible gold dust.

For a cozier vibe, the Gingerbread Martini combines Stoli Vanil Vodka, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and espresso, enhanced with gingerbread syrup, whipped cream, and a festive gingerbread cookie. A delicious way to toast the season!

We dined at Harper’s for breakfast twice during our stay. The combination of excellent service, fresh-pressed coffee, and perfectly executed dishes proves why this restaurant wins Atlantic City’s best breakfast title year after year.

Inside “The District” food court of Ocean Casino Resort, a full-size food truck is serving up Iron Chef Jose Garces’s take on vibrant Mexican street food. Distrito brings bold flavors, a lively vibe, and an authentic taste of Mexico City straight to Atlantic City.

The birria tacos are a must-try. Tender guajillo-braised beef is tucked into crispy tortillas with melted queso mixto, fresh cilantro, and diced onion. Served with a rich consommé for dipping, every bite is satisfying and packed with flavor.

No taco feast is complete without drinks, and Distrito delivers on that front too. The margaritas here are top-notch and made with fresh lime juice and quality tequila.

Definitely try the Michelada! Distrito blends fresh tomato juice, spices, hot sauce, and lime with your pick of Mexican beer. We love it with Negra Modelo, though Tecate and Pacifico work great too. The Tajín-rimmed glass gives it a zesty finish that’s hard to resist.

Whether you’re craving tacos, nachos, or a refreshing cocktail, Distrito is the perfect spot for authentic Mexican flavors in a fun and casual setting.

💡 Pro Tip: Stop by on Margarita Mondays for $5 classic margaritas! 🎉

Seafood takes center stage here. The Tuna Tartare offers fresh layers of avocado, cucumber, and crispy rice pearls, while the Calamari Fritti pairs perfectly crispy rings with smoked remoulade and fiery cherry peppers that add just the right kick.

Sharing is caring, so don’t miss the Burrata Board—a creamy burrata paired with prosciutto, spicy salami, marinated heirloom tomatoes, arugula, and pecorino sardo. Pair it with House-Made Meatballs in pomodoro sauce for a classic Italian start.

Can you leave here without having linguini by the sea? You shouldn’t dare! And the Linguini Alle Vongole is a perfect choice.

Manila clams in garlic white wine sauce with Calabrian chili create a flavorful dish that’s both briny and spicy. The Braised Leek Tortellini surprised me in the best way. The prosecco cream sauce is rich but not heavy, and the crispy prosciutto adds the perfect salty crunch.

For something hearty, the Chicken Milanese delivers with a crispy fried cutlet topped with arugula, heirloom tomato, red onion, and a balsamic reduction.

Desserts here are as memorable as the meal. The Tiramisu is light, creamy, and addictive – with mascarpone, ladyfingers, and espresso. Craving something unique? Go for  the Crème Brûlée Donut, filled with zabaglione and flambeed with peach butter. It’s amazing.

For a spiced holiday treat, try the Biscoff Cheesecake, inspired by the beloved European cookies, with rich caramel and warm spices.

Seasonal Renovations: How Timing Can Affect the Cost of Your Garage Makeover

Renovating your garage is a fantastic investment that transforms a basic storage space into a functional and appealing part of your home. However, the timing can significantly impact the cost and the project’s efficiency. Factors such as demand for services, weather conditions, and material availability all vary seasonally, which makes some seasons better than others for certain types of upgrades. If your renovation plans include adding a new garage coating, for instance, timing is crucial. Coating applications rely on specific temperature ranges and low humidity to cure correctly. Understanding how each season affects different aspects of a makeover can help you make better decisions. Winter Winter is the least common time for makeovers, but it can offer substantial savings. Demand for contractors tends to drop, which lowers labor costs and creates opportunities for discounts on materials. If your garage […]

“A little tranquil lake is more significant to my life than any big city in the world.” – Munia Khan (author and poet)    Consistently making it to the top of Money Magazine’s best places to live in the U.S. each year, and named the “safest city” by Forbes Magazine, Columbia, Maryland is a perfectly landscaped example of a tree-lined suburban utopia with urban conveniences.  Close to both Baltimore and Washington, D.C., Columbia’s rapidly expanding downtown, also known as the Town Center, draws both locals and travelers to its entertainment and events, but also to shop at the Mall of Columbia, where there are over 200 places to shop and eat.  The newly developed Merriweather District in Columbia’s Town Center is quickly becoming a hub for arts and culture, with a variety of unique dining options that include […]

Milton’s Cauliflower Crust Pizza Infused with the goodness of cauliflower and gluten-free, Milton’s Cauliflower Crust Pizzas from Milton’s […]
